Genre boundaries in electronic music often blur when a track combines the gradual builds of progressive house, the warmth of deep house, and the melody-focused approach associated with melodic house and melodic techno. “Wideness” by Mia Vice, released on Music Advisor Recordings, sits in that overlap. Its arrangement has the scale of progressive house, a prominent melodic line, and a steady rhythmic pulse that can also suit a melodic techno set. Rather than assigning it to a single category, “Wideness” is best heard as an instrumental melodic electronic track shaped for both movement and atmosphere.

Mia Vice – Wideness
What makes Mia Vice's 'Wideness' an open, spacious production?
The title “Wideness” suits the production. The stereo image opens up early, with synthesizers spread across the mix while the low end stays centered. This separation gives the arrangement room to breathe. The track suggests scale without relying on excessive effects or a dense wall of sound.
-
A memorable melody leads the track. Mia Vice avoids the harsher industrial tones found in some techno productions, choosing instead a bright, patient motif with a hopeful edge. The lead remains clear above the drums without taking over the mix. It gives “Wideness” its emotional direction and makes the central hook easy to recognize.
-
The rhythm gives the melody a stable base. A progressive house bassline keeps the groove moving, and the kick has enough presence for a club system without overpowering the rest of the arrangement. The track carries dancefloor weight while its details remain audible on headphones, desktop speakers, and in the car.
How is Mia Vice's 'Wideness' built for both the dancefloor and close listening?
“Wideness” works as a melodic house club track, but it also holds up to focused listening. Its structure does not rush toward a dramatic drop. Instead, the groove settles gradually, allowing each layer to establish its role.
-
Its steady BPM and repeating groove make it easy to move to. Filter sweeps, changes in percussion, and risers build tension before the main hook returns. The transitions are measured rather than abrupt, which makes the track useful for DJs seeking progressive house music that can connect different parts of a set. It has energy without chasing peak-time intensity throughout.
-
The layered synthesizers and restrained reverb become more apparent on closer listens. Small shifts in texture keep the repetition from becoming static: a changed synth tone, a percussion accent, or a subtle movement in the background can alter the mood without interrupting the flow. That makes this instrumental electronic music suitable for a room-filling playlist as well as private listening when vocals would distract from the music.
Mia Vice’s melody-led electronic sound
Mia Vice brings a modern, melody-centered electronic sound to the Klangspot family. Some releases in this wider catalog lean toward relaxation music or retro disco. On “Wideness,” her approach is more controlled and club-aware, built around clean arrangement choices, precise percussion, and a lead melody that carries the track’s emotional weight. It fits the ‘Instrumental Deep House Mixtape’ alongside deeper selections and more energetic club material. The groove carries a deep house influence, while the progressive arrangement gives the record forward motion.
When to stream “Wideness”
The consistent pace and absence of vocals make “Wideness” suitable for several everyday settings. It has a distinct melodic identity, yet it does not demand constant attention. That balance is one of the track’s strengths.
-
It suits a night drive. The steady forward motion and spacious melodic techno character work well with long roads, streetlights, and quieter city streets after dark. The track has enough atmosphere to make a familiar route feel less routine.
-
It can also work during coding, reading, design work, or other tasks that require concentration. The evolving instrumental arrangement creates movement in the background, while the lack of lyrics leaves more room for focus. Listeners who use deep house while working may appreciate a melody that remains present without constantly drawing attention away from the task.
-
The track also fits long runs, gym sessions, and steady cardio. Its energy remains relatively even rather than rising too quickly and dropping away. That consistent pace can suit listeners who want a reliable rhythm for sustained activity. The kick and bassline provide a physical pulse, while the melodic layers prevent the arrangement from feeling repetitive.
What defines Mia Vice's 'Wideness' as a melodic electronic track with room to move?
“Wideness” is a melodic electronic release with a clear sense of space, a solid rhythmic foundation, and a hook that stays memorable. Progressive house, melodic house, melodic techno, and instrumental deep house are all useful descriptions, although none captures the track completely on its own. Mia Vice combines these familiar elements with restraint, leaving room for the groove, melody, and smaller production details. That approach allows the track to work in a DJ mix, on a run, or during a late-night listen.
