Stefania Surace Releases “Traces of Light” on Klangspot Nu Classical
Klangspot Nu Classical is proud to present “Traces of Light”, the new piano single by Stefania Surace. The piece unfolds like a private memory slowly returning to the surface: delicate, searching and full of quiet movement.
Rather than remaining completely still, “Traces of Light” carries a natural flow. The piano phrases move forward with sensitivity, while the harmony keeps a slightly melancholic, deeply human color. As the track develops, small melodic gestures begin to feel like fragments of light appearing through mist — never loud, never forced, but clearly present.
For listeners who love neoclassical piano, modern classical music, cinematic piano, intimate instrumental music and emotional solo piano, “Traces of Light” offers a beautiful and focused listening experience.
The Sound of Light, Memory and Return
“Traces of Light” feels like music written from a place of personal reflection. It is not built around virtuoso display or dramatic effect. Instead, Stefania Surace allows the piano to speak in a clear, lyrical and honest voice.
The track’s movement gives it a sense of journey. There is a quiet tension in the harmony, but also a feeling of warmth and release. This balance makes the piece suitable for both active listening and focused background moments: reading, writing, studying, walking, reflecting or beginning the day with a calm but emotionally present mindset.
The title captures the essence of the music beautifully. “Traces of Light” suggests something remembered, something fragile, something still glowing even after time has passed.
About Stefania Surace
Stefania Surace was born in 1976 and is an Italian pianist and composer whose work can be described as short-form neoclassical piano music. Her artistic path is deeply personal and far from conventional.
Music accompanied her throughout childhood and adolescence, but her life initially took a different direction. At 18, she left her village in Calabria to study political science at L.U.I.S.S. University in Rome. After graduating, she moved to Belgium with a grant from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and studied at the College of Europe in Bruges.
A future in European institutions, research or media seemed likely — until music returned. Stefania began dreaming of music at night and gradually came back to the piano after years of silence. Her classical training resurfaced, and she returned to music theory and formal study before recording several piano albums, including “Segnali dalle Nuvole,” “Tracce di sogno alla luce del giorno” and “Fatamorgana.”
Her concert path has included performances in Rome, Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan, Bruges, Spoleto, Reggio Calabria and Villa Leopardi in Rome. She is also the author of the novel “Panni Sporchi” and has devoted many years to piano teaching.
Today, living close to nature and teaching in Basel and the surrounding area, Stefania continues to compose music that feels like part of one inner story — a story connected to silence, memory, landscape and the sense of returning home.
