Digital music changes quickly, yet listeners continue to seek out labels with a distinct identity. Klangspot Recordings has earned more than 250 million streams across platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. The independent label releases Ambient, Neoclassical, and Nu-Jazz music for listeners looking for focused listening, background atmosphere, and new artists. Its catalogue ranges from piano-led compositions and electronic textures to jazz-inflected arrangements and quieter experimental pieces. The label’s YouTube channel is now becoming a more active place to experience this music visually as well as sonically.
Klangspot Recordings is transforming its official YouTube channel into a dynamic visual platform, moving beyond its previous role as a secondary audio archive. This initiative aims to provide a more active outlet for music videos, live performance footage, visualizers, and release-related films, aligning the visual experience with the atmospheric instrumental music the label offers. Led by Ben Baumgarten, Creative Director and founder of Zyrkus GmbH, the channel's new direction will integrate video into its release work, with full implementation planned for 2026. This strategic shift ensures that the visual presentation receives the same considered treatment as the music it accompanies.
After a quiet period, the Klangspot Recordings YouTube channel is being updated. Rather than serving mainly as an archive for uploaded audio tracks, it will sit alongside the label’s streaming releases as a regular outlet for music videos, live performance footage, visualizers, and release-related films. This direction suits a catalogue in which sound, mood, and pacing often matter as much as a conventional song format.
How is Klangspot Recordings expanding from audio releases to visual projects on YouTube?
The YouTube channel previously received limited attention and functioned mostly as a secondary archive. In 2026, Klangspot Recordings is making video part of its release work. The label is revisiting its back catalogue while planning original visuals for forthcoming Ambient, Neoclassical, and Nu-Jazz releases. Some tracks invite close visual interpretation, while others call for restraint. The intention is not to place generic imagery over every song, but to make films that follow the pace and character of each recording.
Older releases will receive new visuals that fit the music and offer listeners a way back into familiar tracks. New signings and releases will also include music videos and visualizers with their own visual direction. Viewers may encounter a full live set, play a visualizer at home, or discover an artist through YouTube recommendations. For a label working with atmospheric instrumental music, an image can shape a first impression without distracting from the recording itself.
Who is Ben Baumgarten and what is Zyrkus's role in Klangspot's visual strategy?
The channel’s new direction is led by Ben Baumgarten, Creative Director and founder of Zyrkus GmbH. His role connects Klangspot’s recorded music with a more consistent approach to film, photography, motion, and release presentation. The work includes established artists in the catalogue as well as new projects that require a visual identity from their first release.
Baumgarten works across music and visual design, and through Zyrkus he is developing a more cinematic visual language for Klangspot’s releases. This does not require every video to have a large production or a strong narrative. A quiet piano piece may suit a fixed frame and patient editing, while a live concert benefits from movement, proximity, and attention to the details of musicians playing together. The aim is straightforward: the video should receive the same considered treatment as the music it accompanies.
What are the visual projects for Rikard From and De-Phazz on Klangspot's YouTube channel?
The collaboration is already visible in two recent projects. Each uses a different format because the music calls for a different approach. One documents the energy of a concert before an audience. The other creates a controlled visual setting around an album of piano interpretations. Together, they show how Klangspot Recordings plans to use YouTube for more than standard promotional clips.

Rikard From – Live in Berlin: Ben Baumgarten filmed Rikard From’s concert in Berlin. The footage captures the closeness of the performance and the detail of a live Neoclassical set, bringing the venue atmosphere to viewers at home. Rather than reducing the concert to a short excerpt, the film gives time to the musicians, the room, and the gradual movement within the set. It offers existing listeners another perspective on Rikard From’s recordings and gives new viewers a direct introduction to his live Neoclassical music.

De-Phazz presents Octaves: The visual campaign for the De-Phazz Octaves album takes a restrained approach. The record consists of piano interpretations of classic De-Phazz tracks, and its videos and visualizers match its minimal “Nu Jazzical” mood. The project avoids imposing an elaborate story on music that already leaves space for memory and reflection. Its visual language stays close to the album’s measured piano sound, giving the arrangements room to breathe while helping viewers recognise the Octaves release across the Klangspot YouTube channel.
Watch Klangspot Recordings on YouTube
Klangspot Recordings is adding video to its existing catalogue, not replacing the listening experience that brought many people to the label. Long-time listeners and first-time visitors can find concert footage, visualizers, artist films, and videos for new releases on the channel. For listeners interested in Ambient music videos, live Neoclassical performances, and modern Nu-Jazz, the channel offers a visual home for the catalogue. It also makes it easier to see how individual releases connect with the artists and ideas behind them.
Visit YouTube, subscribe, and watch the latest releases. New uploads will include work from the Klangspot back catalogue alongside videos for current artists and upcoming records. The channel is a place to watch Rikard From live in Berlin, explore the De-Phazz Octaves visual campaign, and follow future Klangspot Recordings music videos.
